Board of Directors
The Hellenic Harvard Foundation is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors responsible for the stewardship, strategic direction, and oversight of the Foundation in accordance with its public-benefit mandate.
The Board is composed of six life members and three members elected by the life members for renewable two-year terms, ensuring both continuity and periodic renewal in its governance structure. All members serve on a voluntary and non-remunerated basis.
Alexandros Samaras
PresidentAlexandros C. Samaras is Founder and Principal of “Alexandros C. Samaras & Associates, Architects-Engineers-Consultants S.A.”, an internationally active, award-winning firm based in Athens and Patmos, Greece. He holds an M.Arch. (1975) from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
Angelos Tsichrintzis
Vice PresidentAngelos Tsichrintzis is General Counsel of the Latsco Family Office. He holds an LL.M. (1985) and S.J.D. (1986) from Harvard Law School.
Vasileios Kotsovilis
Secretary
Vasileios Kotsovilis, formerly Head of Legal, is now Member of the Board of the Bank of Greece. He holds an LL.M. (1984) from Harvard Law School.
Georgios Michos
TreasurerGeorgios Michos is Chief Executive Officer of Enerwave. He holds an MBA (1998) from Harvard Business School.
Nicolaos Machairas
MemberNicolaos Machairas is an entrepreneur. He holds an MBA (1980) from Harvard Business School.
Andreas Zombanakis
MemberAndreas Zombanakis is a former investment banker and private equity investor who now dedicates his time to a range of non-profit initiatives focused on cultural heritage, disability, climate, and the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. He holds a BA from Harvard College and both an M.Arch. and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania.
Panagiotis Roilos
Member Panagiotis Roilos is Professor of Comparative Literature in the Department of Classics at Harvard University. He holds the George Seferis Professorship of Modern Greek Studies and Comparative Literature. He is Faculty Associate at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies, and President of the European Cultural Center of Delphi. He holds a Ph.D. in Classics (1999) from Harvard University.
