Established in 1991 by Presidential Decree, the Hellenic Harvard Foundation is an independent public-benefit institution based in Athens, Greece, dedicated to expanding access to Harvard University for Greek students of exceptional promise.

The Foundation’s principal mission is to provide financial support to students and researchers from Greece who have been admitted to Harvard University and whose financial circumstances might otherwise limit their ability to pursue their studies.

In parallel, the Foundation actively fosters academic and institutional ties between Harvard’s scholarly community and Greece, while collaborating with domestic and international institutions that share aligned educational objectives. The Foundation’s activities extend beyond scholarship support to include the publication of academic works, as well as the organization of conferences, seminars, lectures, and events that advance its mission and promote intellectual exchange.

Since its establishment, the Hellenic Harvard Foundation has supported generations of Greek students at Harvard, contributing to the development of future scholars, researchers, professionals, and leaders, while strengthening the longstanding relationship between Greece and Harvard University.
